Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Austin-Healey 100-4 BN1 debuted in 1953 as a collaboration between Donald Healey and Austin, aiming to create an affordable yet high-performance British sports car. Its name, “100,” signified its ability to reach 100 mph — a remarkable feat for the era.
Powered by a 2.6-liter four-cylinder engine producing 90 horsepower, the BN1 featured a sleek, low-slung body and a folding windscreen for true open-air motoring. It was built on a lightweight chassis with independent front suspension that delivered agile handling and spirited performance. The BN1 was paired with a three-speed gearbox and overdrive, distinguishing it from the later BN2, which adopted a four-speed transmission.
This 100-4 BN1 has been refinished in Reno Red paint with a black convertible top and red leather upholstery on its folding bucket seats. Other features include Dunlop wire wheels with chrome knockoff hubs, a three-spoke “banjo” style steering wheel, and Smiths dashboard gauges.
This 1954 Austin-Healey 100-4 BN1 is now represented at no reserve by a Broad Arrow Specialist with a tonneau cover, side curtains, a binder of documents, manuals, and a clean Florida title in the current owner's name.
