Description

“New beauty inside and out — with Fisher Body styling and luxurious De Luxe interiors.” The 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe Convertible represented the height of Chevrolet style and innovation in the early 1950s. Introduced as part of the Styleline series, which debuted in 1949, the ’51 model featured a sleek, rounded body design that reflected the era’s shift toward more modern aesthetics.

“It’s the only car in the low-price field with a Valve-in-Head engine!” While Ford and Plymouth only offered flathead engines, the 1951 Chevrolets were powered by a 216.5 cu-in OHV inline-six engine producing 92 horsepower, or an optional 235.5 cu-in six . The upscale Styleline Deluxe Convertible offered both manual and Powerglide automatic transmissions. It was built on a 115-inch wheelbase and weighed approximately 3,365 pounds, with seating for five passengers.

“Chevrolet brings you more for your money in every way!” Priced around $2,020 when new, the Deluxe trim level included upscale features such as chrome accents, improved upholstery, and a power-operated convertible top, making it a luxurious yet economical choice for the time. Only 20,172 convertibles were produced in 1951 — and this one is mostly original. Factory accessories include an Impala hood ornament, spotlight, windshield compass, and Kleenex holder.
