The Custom Deluxe series represented the top-tier trim level, offering buyers a refined driving experience with upscale features and robust mechanicals. At its heart was Ford’s venerable 239 cu-in Flathead V8, paired with a three-speed manual transmission with factory overdrive—an advanced feature for its time.    

According to the selling dealer, this 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe Sedan shows 26,442 miles and retains its factory drivetrain and original specifications. The dealer reports that it was purchased new on January 23, 1950, from Freeman A. McKenzie Inc. in Long Beach, California, by Chester A. Biles, who is said to have maintained ownership for more than two decades. The vehicle is described as a California “black plate” example with known ownership history since new.  

The selling dealer further notes that the sale includes original documentation such as early California registrations, dealer service invoices, the original dealer application for registration, the factory service policy, original keys, and the leather dealer key fob.
