Description
Chevrolet introduced its Advance Design trucks in mid-1947 with a wider cab, a redesigned front end with a horizontal-bar grille, and improved visibility, and the line remained in production through early 1955. The 3800 was the one-ton Commercial model, built on a 137" wheelbase and offered as a pickup, stake, platform, or panel truck, and it was originally powered by the 216ci Thriftmaster inline-six. For 1948, Chevrolet added a foot-operated parking brake and series badging on the hood sides.
This 3800 Pickup is a one-ton model assembled in Kansas City, Missouri. Today, the truck is finished in red with black fenders and Hoke & Son lettering on the doors and it has been fitted with a Chevrolet 292ci inline-six paired with an NV3500 five-speed manual transmission and a heavy-duty clutch, along with turn signals. Additional work includes an updated ¾ ton GM truck rear end and front spindles, chassis undercoating, and the bed has a spray-in liner with treated wood stake sides.
This 1948 Chevrolet 3800 Pickup is now offered with service manuals, various records, and a clean Ohio title in the seller's name.
