Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1947 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet stands as a postwar icon of American luxury and design. Originally conceived by Edsel Ford in 1939 as a personal vehicle with European styling, the Continental evolved into a production model that defined the personal luxury car segment. After World War II halted civilian auto production, Lincoln resumed manufacturing in 1946, updating the Continental with a new grille designed by Raymond Loewy and refined trim details.
The 1947 model featured a 292 cu-in flathead V12 producing 125 horsepower, paired with a three-speed manual transmission and optional overdrive. It was also one of the last American cars to feature a factory V12 engine. The car’s elegant proportions, long hood, and rear-mounted spare tire reflected its European influence and helped cement its status as a design classic.
One of only 738 cabriolets built for the model year, this 1947 Lincoln is refinished in cream yellow with a tan convertible top. Two rows of bench seating are reupholstered in burgundy leather and complemented by a color-coordinated top boot.

Ownership History
The seller acquired this 1947 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet in 2022, reports that “the car was completely repainted the original color, and the correct burgundy leather upholstery was installed approximately 10 years ago by the previous owner who owned the car for almost 40 years,” and notes that the car has been driven less than 200 miles since 2022.
The seller states the battery was replaced in the last year and that service in 2021 consisted of replacing the oil filter, spark plugs, front grease and rear axle seals, and cylinder pins, along with the brake primary cylinder, wheel cylinders, and hoses.
A Replacement Identification Number tag assigned by the State of California is mounted on the left door jamb and stamped “7H156957,” which corresponds to the VIN listed on the clean California title in the seller's name.
