The 1947 Ford Super DeLuxe Coupe arrived as American automakers resumed civilian production following World War II, meeting tremendous pent-up demand from buyers eager for new transportation.
As Ford’s premium trim level, the Super DeLuxe featured additional chrome accents, upgraded interior materials, and distinctive styling details. Power came from Ford’s proven 239.4-cubic-inch flathead V8, paired with a three-speed manual transmission for smooth, dependable performance. Hydraulic brakes and straightforward mechanicals enhanced everyday usability.
With demand far exceeding supply, dealers struggled to keep cars in stock, while the coupe’s sleek profile, low roofline, and balanced proportions made it especially appealing to style-conscious postwar motorists.
This Super DeLuxe Coupe underwent an extensive refurbishment by Ford specialists. It is finished in dark blue with a red leather interior by LeBaron Bonney and equipped with a Columbia overdrive rear end. The seller states many NOS parts were used including the running boards and trim, and the photos show the Ford stamp and part numbers on the running boards.
Body and trim changes identify it as an early production example from May 1947. It is fitted with fog lights and was ordered without a heater, radio, or trim rings, and with black wall tires.
This 1947 Ford Super DeLuxe Coupe is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a clean Wisconsin title.

Additional Information
The selling broker states, “Mechanically, this is one of the nicest 1940s Fords we have driven. It shifts smoothly and delivers an exceptional time-capsule driving experience. Please note that the tires are older and should be replaced due to their age and out of an abundance of caution. As the vehicle has been stored for a number of years, we recommend performing a thorough safety inspection before regular road use.
“Cosmetically, the paint presents exceptionally well. The door jambs and lower door corners are remarkably well preserved, while the frame and floor pans are outstanding, reflecting the vehicle’s careful stewardship over the years.
“Due to the age and nature of collector automobiles, we cannot guarantee that every vehicle function will work as it originally did when the vehicle was new. These components are typically 30-60 years old or more and may need attention and service.
“In addition, many of our vehicles are from estates and have been stored and not driven. When vehicles sit for periods of time or once they are driven, issues can arise without warning.
“Due to age, all vehicles are sold strictly as-is without warranty or set aside. Pre-purchase inspections are encouraged and welcome while the auction is running.”
