Description
The 1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster Business Coupe, part of Chevrolet’s entry-level Stylemaster line (1946–48), was directly descended from the pre-war 1942 Master Deluxe, sharing its 116‑inch wheelbase A‑platform and trusted 216.5-cubic-inch “Stovebolt” OHV inline‑six engine, which was mated to a three‑speed manual transmission. Introduced post-WWII in 1946, the Stylemaster Business Coupe differed from the five-passenger coupe by featuring only a front bench seat, targeting commercial users and small business owners.
The 1947 model (Series 1500 EJ) was largely carried over, with the most notable update being a more horizontal grille. Interiors and trim remained modest, aligning with its role as a no-frills, budget-conscious vehicle. Built across multiple U.S. assembly plants, and even in Australia by Holden, the Business Coupe embodied Chevy’s strategy to resume production rapidly by leveraging existing tooling and a familiar design.
This 1947 Chevrolet Stylemaster Business Coupe retains its inline-six engine and manual gearbox while receiving upgrades that have made it a more reliable and enjoyable classic without losing its vintage charm. The car has been refinished in its factory-correct Oxford Maroon paint and features a 12-volt electrical system, tinted windows, aftermarket chrome wheels and exhaust, and a Bluetooth stereo system.
This Business coupe is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information
The seller says, “This ’47 Stylemaster Business Coupe runs, drives well, and has the right custom touches. It has been converted to a 12-volt electrical system for modern dependability (easier starts, better lighting). It’s finished in a deep Metallic Red/Maroon paint that shows beautifully in the sun. The brightwork and chrome are clean, and the car has a great stance on aftermarket chrome wheels.
“The cabin features a clean, two-tone brown/tan interior with what appears to be updated seating surfaces. The windows have been tinted for a sleek look and comfort. Under the hood is a classic, well-maintained Chevrolet Inline-Six engine, which is ready to give you that iconic vintage rumble. The Business Coupe model means you get a massive rear cargo area — nicely carpeted and ready for cruising.”
