Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1946 Chevrolet Half-Ton Pickup marked Chevrolet’s return to full civilian truck production after World War II. Built as part of Chevrolet’s AK Series trucks, the ’46 model was essentially a continuation of the prewar design, reflecting the industry’s focus on meeting strong postwar demand rather than introducing all-new styling.
Chevrolet’s rugged half-ton featured a 115” wheelbase, a durable ladder-frame chassis, and a reliable 216.5ci inline six-cylinder engine that was mated to a three-speed manual gearbox. Its simple mechanical design made maintenance straightforward, helping establish Chevrolet’s reputation for durable work vehicles.
This example has been in the same family for 39 years and was refurbished over several years during an extensive search for correct replacement parts. The truck wears two-tone light green and black paint, green-painted steel wheels with chrome dog dish hubcaps, a wood-planked bed, and a brown and light green interior with brown vinyl upholstery.
The pickup also features a crank-out ventilating windshield, bench seat, floor-mounted shifter, foot-operated starter switch, and a floor heater.
This 1946 Chevrolet Half-Ton Pickup is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Michigan title in the current owner's name.

Additional Information
The current owner states, “This truck was sold to my husband in February of 1987. He put a lot of love into it — took it all the way down, painted the underside with POR-15, looked all over for parts and did an awesome job. It’s a beauty. It has a few old age spots, but so do I. The title is in my name because he passed away in August of 2025, and I changed all my titles back then, but I’m not about to drive it... He drove it often, had it in parades, and won a couple prizes at local shows.”
