The 1940 Ford Coupe is widely regarded as one of the most iconic pre-war American automobiles, blending streamlined styling with reliable performance. Introduced during a time of rapid automotive innovation, the 1940 model featured a fresh design by Ford’s styling chief, Eugene “Bob” Gregorie, with a more rounded body, sealed-beam headlights integrated into the fenders, and a distinctive three-part grille. Under the hood, the car was powered by Ford’s famous flathead V8 engine. As Ford said, the ’40 models had “Style that sets the pace, performance that leads the way.”
This 1940 Ford Business Coupe retains retro style but adds the performance of a small block Ford V8 and automatic transmission. It features custom maroon and white paint and brown vinyl interior. The door latches were added under the car.
