By 1940, Buick had firmly established itself as a leader in engineering innovation and design sophistication. The Super 8 series, positioned between the entry-level Special and the luxurious Roadmaster, offered buyers a compelling blend of performance, style, and value. At the heart of the Super 8 was Buick’s celebrated 248 cu-in “Dynaflash” straight-eight engine, delivering smooth power through a three-speed manual transmission. With elegant lines, advanced features, and a reputation for reliability, the Super 8 became a symbol of pre-war American motoring excellence.
This 1940 Buick Super 8 Convertible is finished in Sequoia Cream with a striking red leather interior with matching steel wheels and a black canvas top. The color combination is both bold and timeless, accentuating the car’s graceful Art Deco styling. The chrome and brightwork—inside and out—are said to be in excellent condition according to the selling dealer, and the car presents as a beautiful example of Buick’s pre-war craftsmanship.
