Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Before “The Big Three” ruled Detroit, the American automotive landscape was filled with varying companies, each employing radically different strategies to separate themselves from their peers. Packard stood out from the pack, specializing in luxury and opulence. The Packard was the car of choice for presidents, heads of industry, and abroad, royalty. During the Great Depression, Packard saw some of its best years, offering competitively priced, powerful, reliable autos with a discreet external appearance.
The Packard 120 designation came from the wheelbase, before being replaced by the Packard 200. In 1937, the One-Twenty went up-market as the company introduced the Packard Six, the first six-cylinder Packard in ten years. For 1937, the One-Twenty broadened its model range and was now available in "C" and "CD" trim levels.
This 1937 Packard Six includes a rare and sought after history and story for the car, from the delivery in Cartersville, Georgia, to storage in a shed across the 70s, and finally its frame off restoration and recent updates prior to sale. Originally offered from factory at a luxurious price of $910, this Packard Six has been treated as such through the years. Given the car’s history and documentation, the 129,115 miles are believed to be original.

Ownership History According to the seller, “This vehicle was delivered new to the Jenkins Motor Co. in Cartersville, Georgia. It was kept by the original owner until the late 1960’s when it was sold to the second owner, and continued to be used and enjoyed until it was finally parked in the early 70’s. It sat in a shed until it was purchased and restored in 1979 by Mr. James B. Wagnon Jr. of Chattanooga, Tennessee. This was a complete body off restoration with many new parts while other parts were cleaned, restored, and reused. Since then, this car has been very sparingly used since its almost fifty-year-old restoration.”
