Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Built on Henry Ford’s rugged Model T chassis, this 1923 Ford Model T has been fitted with an open-sided wooden wagon body in the traditional Huckster or Depot Hack style. Such vehicles were commonly used by merchants, hotels, resorts, and local businesses to transport passengers, goods, and supplies.

With its simple 177ci four-cylinder engine and legendary durability, the Model T could make its way along rutted roads that challenged horses and wagons. Power was delivered to the rear wheels via a two-speed planetary transmission.

This Huckster — an old term for a street vendor or peddler — features a stained wooden body and truck bed with a black painted hood, fenders, and running boards, and the top is covered with black leatherette. Additional features include wooden artillery wheels and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car also has a mechanical transmission brake and hand-operated parking brake, MotoMeter radiator thermometer, and cowl lamps.

The truck runs, but it will require maintenance — namely carburetor and fuel adjustments — to be fully functional and reliable.

This 1923 Ford Model T Huckster Truck is now offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the current owner with a clean Michigan title in the current owner's name.
