Yes. While we offer a zero deductible for most vehicles, other deductible options are available and vary by state and vehicle type. Any applicable deductibles will be available during the web quoting process.
Yes. "Comprehensive only" (other-than-collision) coverage is available when a car is undergoing restoration, part of a display (such as in a museum) or placed in long-term storage. Hagerty also offers coverage called Limited Trailer Paddock that provides collision coverage while your vehicle is trailered. Please call us for more details on coverage.
Car is stationary and the tree branch crushes the roof. That’s Other-than-collision.
Car is in motion and rolls into a tree. That’s Collision. Even if no one was driving.
Yes and it varies depending on the type of vehicle. We need one good photo for stock (original) vehicles, showing a full side view of the car. We need four photos for custom or modified vehicles (full vehicle, engine, interior, and trunk or bed, if it's a truck). Two photos are required for classic pickups (full vehicle and truck bed).
Our program guidelines require that every driver must be fully licensed, with no state imposed restrictions (such as a suspension). Operators of motorcycles and high-performance vehicles must be licensed a minimum of 10 years.
Simply put, we want you to enjoy your classic vehicle. While there are some restrictions in the policy, you’re covered for pleasure use, whether it's a drive on a gorgeous summer day, a trip to the ice cream shop, attending club events or going to shows. If you have specific questions about usage, especially if you own a newer vehicle (generally 1990 and newer), we're happy to discuss them with you.
Guaranteed Value insurance policies guarantee that, in the event of a covered total loss, you will receive the vehicle’s full insured value, which we will have already agreed on. Please see the policy features main page for more details.
We typically do not require appraisals. If we need further documentation supporting a vehicle's value, we will contact you during the underwriting process.
It’s up to your discretion who you allow to drive your car. Just keep in mind, the same acceptable usage that applies to you applies to everyone who drives it. While Hagerty supports youth involvement in the hobby, our program guidelines requires that every driver must be fully licensed, with no state imposed restrictions (such as a suspension). Please call a licensed sales agent to discuss your specific situation.
