The Hagerty Drivers Club 1st Gear and 2nd Gear cover only your classics insured with Hagerty. 3rd Gear covers both your classics and your personally owned vehicles registered to your household. Car hauling trailer coverage is included in both the 2nd Gear and 3rd Gear levels. Additionally, anyone driving the covered car may call for service – Hagerty Drivers Club covers the car, we do not restrict our plan(s) to a specific driver.*

No. The roadside program only applies to services dispatched by Hagerty Drivers Club. You must call the Emergency Roadside Service number located on your membership card and/or key fob to have service dispatched. Any services retained directly by you are not included.*

Hagerty Drivers Club provides assistance for changing the wheel and tire with your inflated spare. If you don't have a spare, our certified dispatch agents will advise you of nearby companies who sell spare tires and will dispatch a tow to get you and your vehicle to the service station. Please Note: Hagerty Drivers Club will not cover the cost of a new spare tire or the labor associated with tire balancing, rotation, or alignment*

Our roadside service covers vehicles owned by you and covers members of your family who reside in the same household while they drive your vehicles. Our Third Gear membership covers all household vehicles, while our First and Second Gear memberships cover only your collector or classic vehicles.

Benefits can be enjoyed as soon as membership has been purchased and a username and login credentials have been set up.

In 2019, we held more than 125 events for our club members. Events included driving tours, private dinners, cars and caffeine gatherings, exclusive movie premieres and virtual events. The cost of a tow ranges from $50-150. This includes the hookup fees and mileage. Additional overage cost can range from $2-6 per mile.

Your story – Tell us about yourself! Include information such as what introduced you to the hobby and what you love most about being part of the car community. Add special details like photos with captions and bolded headlines to separate your text and create a visual masterpiece.

Vehicle information – Park vehicles in your virtual garage and host your own personal car show. Upload photos and share what you love about your car in the vehicle’s description. Click editGarage for instructions on how to edit your garage.

Make sure to keep your information safe by following these recommendations.

Clean your car - A quick wash and detailing will go a long way when it comes to your vehicle’s glamour shots. Don’t forget to wipe down the interior and engine compartment.

Details - Include images of the exterior, interior, engine and opened trunk (if applicable). Capturing each side of the exterior and your favorite details throughout the vehicle will show your audience what you love about the car. The more photos the better; take advantage of the 40-photo upload limit.

Angle - Some cars look good from a low angle, some are better at waist height and others are best viewed from above. Experiment with different angles to see what looks best. Don’t be afraid to get dirty and shoot from flat on the ground. Consider using a stepladder to capture the car from a higher perspective.

Location - A clean, inviting background is key to eye-catching photos. You want to clearly show the vehicle’s lines so prospective buyers can easily see the design and condition of the vehicle. The perfect image can be ruined by weeds, an overlooked paper cup or other debris. Be sure to remove anything that may adversely affect your image.

Lighting - To get the best light on the car, shoot with the sun at your back, and stay far enough back to keep your shadow out of the picture.

File size - To ensure the highest quality, use images that are at least 1MB and up to 50MB in size.

When your garage is set to “public,” viewers – whether logged in or not – are able to see your profile, including photos, your story and virtual garage. When your garage is set to “private” viewers are limited to your name, profile image and cover photo.

If you prefer to share only certain information with the public, our custom privacy setting options will come in handy. You can also view your profile as the public sees it.

Daily driver cars can be cool, too. Feel free to add any vehicle that gets your motor running.

Any vehicles added to My Garage should be autos that you actually own, but please do like and follow other vehicles and/or garages that make your engine rev.

You don’t need to purchase a Hagerty Drivers Club membership to create a garage, but if you’re not a member some features may be limited. Here’s a breakdown:

Basic log in (not validated):

You’ll be able to create and manage your My Garage profile and vehicles and share it publicly via a link or through social media.

Test driver (free validated account):

Taking a test drive means that you’ll have all the features of a basic account and also be able to comment on, like, follow and watch your favorite garages or individual vehicles. Your profile and/or vehicles may also show up in searches if you so choose.

Hagerty Drivers Club membership (paid account):

A paid account allows you to message other members privately.

If your profile is set to public, anyone who is logged in can follow your account and keep up with your latest updates. Your followers will typically be people who share similar interests in cars and admire your garage.

To mitigate risk, avoid uploading photos that display information you do not want shared to the public, such as your address, house number and license plate numbers. When uploading documents containing private information, it is recommended that those fields are blurred or blocked.

Numbers matching means that a car still contains its original major components. If you have a numbers-matching engine, the sequence of ending numbers on the engine’s tag should match the vehicle’s VIN stamp.

A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) report is like a report card for your car that reveals a vehicle’s history, such as title transfers, lien holder status, opened recalls, and accident and service records.

A VIN report can be obtained through a certified company such as CarFax or AutoCheck. If you are a buyer inquiring about a vehicle for sale, we recommend contacting the seller for this documentation.

If you find yourself in a situation where the VIN stickers and plates are missing from the vehicle in question, there are several alternate methods you can try:

• Check your classic car insurance cards and old registration
• Check the repair records
• Check loan papers related to the vehicle
• Check the records of previous insurance companies

Still can’t find it? Contact your local DMV to check their database or apply for a new VIN.

A vehicle sub-model is its trim level. For example, on a 1967 Ford Mustang GT, “GT” is the sub-model. The term “base model” is used to describe a car with the least factory options. Base model cars typically do not have a sub-model designation.

The sub-model may appear on the rear or side of the vehicle, on your registration, on the title or on your current insurance policy documents.

Updates made to your Garage will not be reflected on your insurance policy through Hagerty Insurance Agency, LLC. To make any changes to your insurance policy, you must contact Hagerty.

Please note that information such as texts and photos provided by you may impact rating and/or premium of your insurance policy through Hagerty (if applicable) if different than information used to develop the original premium. If you alter or modify your insured vehicle(s) in any way, you must notify us within 30 days.

Do you have another car to share or want to clean up your virtual garage? No problem. After logging into your account on Hagerty.com, click the “My garage” tab.

To add a vehicle to your garage, click the boxed plus sign under “Vehicles.” To edit or remove an existing vehicle, click the one you’d like to make changes to.

You can also organize your vehicles by clicking and holding the six dots in the upper left corner and dragging the car to where you would like it to appear before releasing.
