Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
It took just one decade for the C1 Corvette to become a world-class sports car. Two years after its 1953 debut, Chevrolet’s revolutionary small-block V8 bowed. A year later, Corvette received a bold new body design, signaling its evolution from stylish roadster to serious performance machine. And in 1960, a privateer Corvette claimed its first class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The final year of the C1 generation, 1962, saw the 283-cubic-inch V8 replaced by the potent 327. It was available in four power levels, including 250- and 300-horsepower versions with the Powerglide automatic. Those powerplants were housed in a body that blended old and new: the front retained the classic C1 look, while the rear featured a redesigned tail with recessed quad taillights and a pronounced trunk — a delicious preview of the upcoming C2 Sting Ray.
This 1962 Corvette is a true time capsule: it reportedly wears its original beige paint, a red interior, and a white convertible top, is powered by a numbers-matching 300-horsepower 327, and is equipped with a two-speed automatic transmission. It received NCRS Top Flight honors in 1996, and was even chosen as a National Corvette Museum display car in the early 2000s.

Ownership History
This 1962 Corvette is offered from the Burnyzz Collection of December vehicles.
The consignor states, “This 1962 Corvette is believed to be a two-owner vehicle, with the last owner having purchased it in 1967 for a whopping $1,900 and retaining it until his passing in 2025.
“The car is on consignment with us from the daughter of the second owner. It was stored on a lift in the garage in Dade City, Florida where we trailered it back from. It is also believed to be original paint and original mileage according to the documents that came with the car, as written by the now-deceased second owner.”
