During the incredible display that has set the standard for all car chases to follow, Steve McQueen acting as Lieutenant Frank Bullitt was able to escape a Dodge Charger full of bad guys in his Highland Green 1968 Mustang that has since lived on through multiple generations of Mustang. Unveiled fifty years after the movie Bullitt' was first released, the current Bullitt was released for 2019 as the third Mustang to be offered in a special trim variation to pay homage to the extraordinary example that first raced through the streets of San Francisco. The Bullitt special edition offered not only special exterior styling, but an additional twenty horsepower over a standard GT thanks to the same high-flow intake manifold found on the Shelby GT350 and an upgraded ECU. While most Bullitts were offered to customers with a selection of Dark Highland Green or Black, this example was specially designed and built by Ford for charity and is the only Bullitt model to feature factory Kona Blue paint.
