After countless prototypes and endless speculation over if - or perhaps when - Chevrolet would transition the Corvette from the traditional front-engine configuration to a mid-engine setup typically favored for years by its European rivals, Chevrolet finally lifted the cover for its all new mid-engine Corvette in 2019. An advanced aluminum chassis paired with a selection of advanced suspension setups would help the Corvette reach new levels of performance and earn the title of 2020 Motor Trend Car of the Year. A practical requirement of most Corvettes, the C8 was still able to accommodate golf clubs or many additional items required by the owner in the spacious cargo areas that typically span from tiny to useless on many modern sports cars. As what Chevrolet describes as “An aero through the heart of ordinary”, the aggressive exterior design featured sharp angles that could be further enhanced by a range of aerodynamic enhancements. Beginning with the 1LT trim level, C8 Corvettes can be ordered in a range of configurations up from the fully loaded 3LT trim level to the more track focused Z06 model.
