Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Post-World War II production of the Lincoln Continental resumed in 1946, dropping the Zephyr name and dawning new bumpers and trim including a “mouth organ” front grille. A choice of leather or custom cloth lined the opulent Continental interiors, complemented by new chrome-plated dashboard trim, a restyled instrument panel, and pocket-type armrests for 1947. With the 1949 model line already in development for the newly formed Lincoln-Mercury Division, 1948 would be the last model year of the Lincoln Continental for eight years, and the last car produced and sold by a major U.S. automaker with a V12 engine. Recognized as a "Full Classic" by the Classic Car Club of America, first-generation Lincoln Continentals continue to be sought after by collectors for their attractive styling and exclusivity.
