Description
The Chevrolet Task Force series of trucks introduced in 1955 featured several notable improvements over the preceding Advance Design series, including V8 engines, 12-volt electrical systems, smooth-sided beds, and extensive chrome trim. The 1958 model year also saw the most significant redesign for the Task Force series trucks, and 1959 continued with the same look. Inspired by Chevrolet’s passenger cars, the lineup now featured standard quad headlamps, larger parking lamps, and an updated grille with a set of four stacked louvers and a prominent chrome bar embossed with “Chevrolet.” Additionally, Chevrolet renamed its trucks with light-duty models called “Apache,” medium-duty called “Viking,” and heavy-duty trucks called “Spartan.” These trucks’ classic 1950s design elements have made them favorites among hot rodders, resulting in rewarding builds like the truck offered here.
