Model overview

Model description

Introduced in 2019, the SF90 Stradale was Ferrari’s first series-production plug-in hybrid. The car was positioned above the F8 Tributo as the top-of-the-line Ferrari, and it redefined what a flagship Ferrari could be in the electrified era.

At the heart of the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine paired with three electric motors—two at the front axle and one between the engine and the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Combined, the system produces 986 horsepower, making the SF90 the most powerful production Ferrari ever built at the time of its debut. Power is sent to all four wheels, another first for a mid-engine Ferrari, enabling blistering acceleration. The SF90 rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and tops out around 211 mph, yet it can glide silently through city streets for up to 15 miles on electric power alone. Its eDrive mode and advanced torque vectoring make it as capable in tight corners as it is on a straightaway, ensuring both precision and drama in equal measure.

The SF90 Spider arrived in 2020, introducing an open-air experience through a retractable hardtop that adds only 220 pounds to the car’s weight without compromising rigidity. For those seeking the ultimate track experience, Ferrari unveiled the SF90 XX Stradale and SF90 XX Spider in 2023. These limited-production models draw inspiration from Ferrari’s XX program—previously reserved for track-only machines—and translate that expertise into road-legal form. Power climbs to 1,016 horsepower, and the XX cars also feature enhanced cooling systems, more lightweight materials, and aggressive styling. Despite their performance focus, they remain plug-in hybrids, reinforcing Ferrari’s belief that electrification can enhance rather than compromise the driving experience.

Ferrari’s bespoke personalization division ensures that each SF90 can be tailored to its owner’s taste, from subtle carbon-fiber accents to extravagant color schemes through the Atelier and Tailor Made programs. Whether in Stradale or Spider form—or the exclusive XX variants—the SF90 represents the vanguard of Ferrari engineering, a bridge between combustion heritage and the hybrid future. It is a car for those who see technology as an opportunity to push performance into uncharted territory, reaffirming Ferrari’s role as the standard-bearer for speed, innovation, and emotion.
