2,900-Mile 2008 Saleen S331 Supercharged Sport Truck

Description

At the 2007 LA Auto Show, Saleen debuted its latest creation based on the Ford F-150 SuperCab FX2. Primarily known for modifying and racing Mustangs as well as creating the S7 supercar, the new S331 Sport Truck marked Saleen’s return to modifying Ford truck platforms since the Saleen Explorer XP8 of 1998. The Sport Truck was available in naturally aspirated or supercharged versions, the latter pumping out 450 horsepower thanks to its in-house-engineered integrated screw-type supercharger bolted to the block of its 5.4-liter Ford V8. Suspension work aimed at transforming the utilitarian F-150 platform into a focused, high-performance package included tuned Racecraft shocks, springs, and anti-roll bars. The factory disc brakes were left standard unless buyers opted for the desirable Saleen brake system featuring 15 inch ventilated front rotors, providing the 5500 pound truck with much-needed stopping power. Outside, the Sport Truck’s blistering performance was reflected in its aggressive aerodynamic modifications, side-exit exhaust, and 23 inch forged wheels.
