Description
The 2002 Dodge Viper GTS ACR (American Club Racer) represented the pinnacle of the second-generation Viper with higher power, less weight, and track-ready performance.
Built for club racing, the ACR optimized the already-capable GTS coupe with a competition-tuned suspension system, lightweight wheels, and removal of the air conditioning and radio. Those tweaks — combined with a modified 8.0L V10 delivering 460 horsepower and 500 lb-ft. of torque through a 6-speed manual to huge 335mm rear tires — resulted in incredible thrust and low-4-second 0-60 runs. But more impressively, near-1g lateral acceleration that put the factory five-point racing harnesses to good use. Car and Driver exclaimed, “In any gear the car accelerates like Yeager's X-1. Flat-out turns are inhaled at triple-digit speeds, accompanied by tingling in the part of the brain containing the self-preservation instinct.”
Showing just 8,700 miles, this rare 2002 Viper GTS is finished in yellow with black stripes, and features both the hardcore ACR Competition Group package, as well as the Comfort Group that adds back in the air conditioning and stereo system.
This low-mile Viper GTS ACR is now offered with a clean CARFAX history report, its window sticker and new vehicle preparation sheet, service records since 2013, and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name that lists “Exempt” under the brands section.
