Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP was notable for blending muscle car-inspired performance with front-wheel-drive practicality. Built on GM’s W-body platform, the GTP featured a 3.8-liter Series II V6 engine equipped with an Eaton M90 supercharger, producing 240 horsepower.
Power was delivered to the front wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission that was built to handle the engine’s high torque. The GTP also included a sport-tuned suspension, powerful brakes, and traction control for improved handling. Exterior styling was aggressive, with a unique front fascia, fog lamps, 16-inch alloy wheels, and a rear spoiler. The cabin was equipped with uplevel features, including comfortable cloth or leather seating surfaces, a heads-up display, and standard, high-performance, or Bose stereo system options.
In 2000, the Pontiac Grand Prix was chosen to pace the NASCAR Winston Cup series. So 17 uniquely modified Grand Prixs were built with special graphics. The actual pace cars also received race-ready springs, brakes, wheels, tires, exhaust, and strobe lights, along with Motorsport Designs graphics. After the race, those race-ready components were swapped for factory pieces before the cars could be sold.
This Pontiac GTP was the actual 2000 Talladega Pace Car, still wears its graphics and strobe lights, and has only been driven 12,357 miles since new!

The consignor states, “This official Talladega Grand Prix Pace Car 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP coupe is 1 of 17 Pace Cars Pontiac furnished to NASCAR for the 2000 season. The spring race was won by Jeff Gordon, and the fall race by Dale Earnhardt Sr.”
“The car features every option available on a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix except for a sunroof, which NASCAR would not allow. The low mileage and extremely limited production make it one of the rarest factory-built Grand Prix variants ever produced.”
