In 1999, the Ford Mustang was given all-new sheetmetal with a retro feel. This “New Edge” styling was athletic, with sharper lines, a prominent hood scoop, and an aggressive front fascia. Its muscular stance, integrated rear spoiler, and signature tri-bar taillights echoed classic Mustang heritage, while also embracing modern aerodynamics.

Mustangs could be had with a 3.8L V6, but performance enthusiasts opted for the modular 4.6L V8.
