The 1995 Mercedes-Benz S320, of the rear-wheel-drive W140 S-Class series, was renowned for its engineering, luxury, and size. This shorter S-Class offered a 119-inch wheelbase and overall length of 201 inches, making it more agile than its long-wheelbase counterpart. The beautiful, imposing S 320 featured a wide chrome grille flanked by rectangular headlamps, a large greenhouse with an aggressively angled windshield, flat sides with elegant lower cladding, and horizontal taillights with a subtle trunk lip.

It was powered by a 3.2L inline-six; with dual overhead cams, 24 valves, and Bosch fuel injection, this engine created a butter-smooth delivery of 228 horsepower to the waiting 5-speed automatic transmission. And its meticulous build quality, advanced suspension, and luxurious interior positioned the S 320 as the benchmark for mid-1990s executive sedans.
