Description
Rugged, honest, and uncompromising, the 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 NAS (North American Specification) embodied purposeful engineering over comfort. Built to meet American emissions and safety standards, it arrived with a 3.9-litre V8 gasoline engine. Its long-wheelbase body offered genuine utility — seating for up to nine passengers or generous cargo capacity.
While the Defender has legendary off-road capabilities, it just isn’t enough for some people. The creator of this Defender began with a 2006 6.6L Duramax LBZ Turbo V8 diesel engine with intercooler, backed by an Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission for nonstop power. An indestructible Dana 60 axle up front, a Dana 70 in back, with an Atlas twin-stick aluminum transfer case in between. Enough lights to set the desert night ablaze, along with cameras and winches front and rear. And to go overlanding great distances, a custom trailer built from the back of a Defender body sports a 75-gallon fuel tank and backup power.
These are just a few features of this 1993 Defender, which has been nicknamed “FrankenRover.” It was featured in Diesel World magazine’s August 2012 issue, where it was called “…a well-designed and -executed exercise in building a one-of-a-kind vehicle.” At that time, it had already gone through multiple update phases, over 1,700 of labor, and countless dollars. And it’s been updated further since the article was published.
This 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 NAS “FrankenRover” is now represented in Arizona by a Broad Arrow Specialist with a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Colorado title in the current owner's name.
The included trailer is represented with a clean Arizona title in the current owner's name describing it as a 2010 Manufactured.
