Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS marked the final year of the fourth-generation Monte Carlo, a model that had become a symbol of American muscle and NASCAR-inspired design. Originally introduced in 1983, the SS variant was Chevrolet’s answer to the growing demand for performance-oriented coupes. By 1987, the Monte Carlo SS featured a sleek, aerodynamic body with a distinctive front fascia, rear spoiler, and bold graphics that set it apart from its more conservative siblings.
Under the hood, the SS was powered by a 5.0-liter (305 cubic inch) High Output V8 engine, producing 180 horsepower, paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. The suspension was tuned for better handling, making it a favorite among enthusiasts.
This is no ordinary 1987 Monte Carlo SS. Transformed by Florida's Street Legal Stock Car Tributes, the car was built as a tribute to Darrell Waltrip's 1985 and '86 Winston Cup champion No. 11 Budweiser race car. Hand-painted in period-correct NASCAR Winston Cup red and white paint scheme, it includes multiple sponsorship logos (Budweiser, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Valvoline, and more) and has received additional upgrades while remaining street legal.
As Waltrip has been known to say, “Boogity, boogity, boogity! Let’s go racin’, boys!” Or at least to a car show.
This NASCAR-tribute Monte Carlo SS is now offered in Georgia with an accident-free CARFAX history report.
