Description

The 1980 Celica GT represents the refined second generation (A40/A50 series) of Toyota’s popular small sports coupe, first introduced in 1971 and completely redesigned in 1978. Built on the same 98.4″ wheelbase and drivetrain, the A40/A50 retained its rear-wheel-drive layout but evolved stylistically. Under the hood, the GT featured Toyota’s 2.2L SOHC inline-four “20R” engine, producing roughly 90–95 horsepower and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Other 1980 model year standouts included quad rectangular halogen headlamps, upgraded C-pillar air vents, MacPherson front struts, four-link rear suspension, and improved interior lighting.

Purchased by the seller’s father in 2006, this Celica GT received a cosmetic refresh including a repaint in factory Deep Brown Metallic and replacement of exterior trim along with a reupholstered vinyl interior with GT insignias. The seller states that regular service was performed by his father, and a receipt for the muffler replacement as well as factory owner’s manuals are included.

This 1980 Toyota Celica GT is now offered with the aforementioned receipt and owner's manuals, two keys, and a clean Washington state title in the seller’s name.
