Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1976 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL was part of the celebrated R107 series, produced from 1971 to 1989, which replaced the W113 “Pagoda” and became one of Mercedes’ most successful luxury roadsters. By 1976, the 450 SL had firmly established itself as a symbol of refined performance and timeless design. It featured a 4.5-liter V8 engine (M117) delivering around 180 horsepower in U.S. spec, paired here to a 3-speed automatic transmission.
Distinctive for its dual-top design, the 450 SL came with a folding soft top and available removable hardtop, making it versatile for all seasons. Safety innovations like crumple zones and a reinforced passenger cell reflected Mercedes’ engineering leadership. With 6,625 units built in 1976, the 450 SL remains a classic icon, blending durability, comfort, and performance in a way few contemporaries could match.
Finished in elegant Classic White, this ’76 450 SL has been enhanced with a set of Dayton wire wheels and knockoffs and has had the same caregiver since 2007. It comes with its original removable hard top.
This 450 SL is now offered at no reserve with its factory wheel covers, a Haynes Automotive Repair Manual, and a clean title.
