Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1975 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega was a limited‑production, high‑performance variant of the small Chevy developed to showcase advanced engineering. Conceived through a partnership between Chevrolet and Cosworth Engineering in England, the car featured an all‑aluminum 2.0L DOHC four‑cylinder with electronic fuel injection—technologies unusual for American compacts of the era. Initially intended for racing, the engine’s early mechanical‑injection version initially struggled to meet emissions rules, delaying the project until 1975. Production totaled approximately 3,500 units over a two-year run, with each engine hand‑assembled and individually numbered. Distinctive black-and-gold paint, upgraded suspension, and unique interior details set it apart.
This 1975 Cosworth Vega Hatchback Coupe remained on its Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO) until being titled in December 2013, and it now shows 1,400 miles. Black vinyl upholstery covers the seating surfaces and is contrasted by engine-turned gold-tone trim. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes front disc brakes, pop-out rear quarter windows, and an AM/FM radio.
This 1975 Cosworth Vega was acquired by the selling dealer in July 2016 and is now offered at no reserve in Texas with its MSO, window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, ownership history documents, and a clean Texas title.
