Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1974 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia marked the final production year of this iconic German coupe and convertible, which had been in continuous production since 1955. Designed by Italian firm Carrozzeria Ghia and hand-built by German coachbuilder Karmann, the Karmann Ghia combined the reliable mechanicals of the VW Beetle with sleek, European-inspired styling. Powered by a rear-mounted, air-cooled 1600cc flat-four engine, the 1974 model delivered modest performance but exceptional reliability and charm. The four-speed manual transmission provided a direct, engaging driving experience, while the car’s lightweight construction and low center of gravity made it nimble and fun to drive.

This example has been repainted in a light blue finish complemented by black vinyl upholstery. Recent servicing from the seller includes addressing the brakes, tires, and fuel system.

This Karmann Ghia is now offered on behalf of the current owner with service records from current ownership a clean Oregon title.

Additional Information

From the seller, “My VW journey began when I bought a 1973 VW Thing. From the start I was impressed with the simple, reliable German engineering, wise weight distribution and off-road capability. Next, I acquired a matching 73’ VW Bug. After that several folks tipped me off, another VW came for sale in my area. The next one I bought was a 69’ VW Notchback, then a 74’ VW Fastback then lastly the 74’ VW Karmann Ghia. I displayed all 5 with pride at the Coburg Classic Car Show twice in Coburg, Oregon. With my limited garage space, I began selling off my collection since I always insist on covered storage for all my VW’s.”
