Description

The 1973 Porsche 911E marked the culmination of the iconic long‑hood, first‑generation 911 lineup, debuting as part of the 2.4L “E‑series” introduced in late 1971. Positioned as the comfortable middle model between the entry-level 911T and the sportier 911S, the “E” stood for Einspritzung—German for “injection”—highlighting its Bosch‑Porsche mechanical fuel-injection system. Under its rear deck lid was a 2.4L flat‑six producing 165 horsepower and 151 lb‑ft of torque and a new 5‑speed manual 915 gearbox for the model. This powertrain enabled a 0–60 mph in approximately 7.5 seconds and a top speed near 137 mph.

This 1973 Porsche 911E is a US market example that benefits from an extensive mechanical refresh, including a split-case engine rebuild with new pistons, cylinders, bearings, and Bosch MFI injectors as well as upgraded cam chain tensioners, a lightweight Sachs pressure plate, and new starter. The fuel system has been overhauled, some suspension and steering components refreshed, and the dealer-installed A/C system remains intact under the dash with all other components removed.

This 911E is now offered with service records, a factory tool kit, MFI adjustment tools, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
