Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1973 AMF Harley‑Davidson three‑wheel gas golf cart is part of a little‑known but distinctive chapter in the Milwaukee motorcycle manufacturer's history. Harley began producing golf carts in 1963, applying motorcycle engineering principles to recreational vehicles. When in 1969 the company was acquired by American Machine and Foundry, all AMF golf carts were soon branded as AMF Harley‑Davidson.
The gas-powered Model D three‑wheel design featured a single front steering wheel, rear‑mounted two‑stroke gasoline engine, and a hinged fiberglass body for easy service access. These carts represent the peak of Harley’s three‑wheel production before four‑wheel designs became dominant. Although golf cart production ended in 1981, AMF successor Columbia ParCar continued supporting these vehicles with parts and manuals that helped many remain operational and collectible decades later.
This 1973 AMF Harley‑Davidson Model D gas-powered golf cart has been refinished in what the seller calls “Jaguar Racing Green” paint and wears replacement brown vinyl upholstery, along with some Columbia replacement parts. It is powered by a Harley-Davidson 250cc single‑cylinder, two‑stroke gasoline engine with a Hitachi starter generator and belt‑driven wet clutch with reduction gearbox. Additional features include a period‑appropriate tan canopy top, a rear-mounted spare tire with cover, and chrome trim, grab rails, and bumpers.
This golf cart is now offered at no reserve in California with a service manual and a Bill of Sale.

Ownership History
The owner of this 1973 AMF/Harley Davidson Golf Cart received it in November 2023 from his uncle, who discovered it in a warehouse and had it painted “Jaguar Racing Green” to match his 1932 Ford. The upholstery was also redone in marine vinyl. The uncle, who passed away in 2024, didn’t keep the cart because the golf courses would not allow gas-powered vehicles on their grounds.
