Description
The second-generation Chevrolet Chevelle hit 1968 like a bomb, with the redesigned A-body’s sweeping fastback lines instantly captivating buyers. An updated frame with a shorter 112-inch wheelbase, paired with a compliant coil-spring suspension, delivered both confident handling and everyday comfort. And with 300, Concours, and Malibu trim levels, Chevy offered a Chevelle for any budget.
Reportedly refurbished at Lasky Coachworks in Los Angeles under previous ownership, this '68 396 SS now wears a black exterior finish paired with a red interior with vinyl bucket seats and color-keyed interior panels and carpets. A horseshoe-style console shifter controls the TH400 3-speed automatic transmission, regulating power between the 396ci V8 and 3.73:1 PosiTraction rear differential, and additional features include 14" wheels wrapped in Firestone redline tires, a power-assisted black vinyl convertible top, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, and air conditioning, and a teak wood-rimmed steering wheel.
This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Convertible is now offered by a Broad Arrow Group specialist with a service manual, factory assembly instruction manual, tonneau cover, and a clean California title in the current owner's name.
