Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1967 Pontiac GTO marked the final year of the first‑generation model and showcased Pontiac’s confidence in the growing muscle‑car market. Still considered the “Original Muscle Car,” the LeMans-based ’67 GTO refined the formula with cleaner styling, improved safety features, and a new 400‑cubic‑inch V8 that replaced the earlier 389. Buyers could choose from three body styles: the hardtop coupe, sports coupe (with B pillar), and highly desirable convertible.

As the GTO became more popular — and early GTOs grew more expensive — it was not uncommon for LeMans owners to build tribute cars. The 1966-67 LeMans and GTO shared the same A‑body platform and nearly identical sheet metal, making conversions straightforward.

The seller of this 1967 Pontiac LeMans Convertible GTO Tribute purchased it partially disassembled and without an engine. Over a long-term rebuild, the car was refinished in Tyrol Blue paint with a power-operated black convertible top over black vinyl bucket seats and black carpet. It received a 400ci V8 engine, a GM 200‑4R four‑speed automatic transmission with overdrive, Holley Sniper EFI, Edelbrock air cleaner, UMI Performance suspension, GTO badges, a below-dash water temperature gauge, and a retro-looking aftermarket stereo.

This LeMans Convertible is now represented by a Broad Arrow Specialist at no reserve with a clean Michigan title in the current owner's name.

Additional Information

The seller states the vehicle “is not represented as an original factory GTO” and acknowledges “unresolved authenticity questions and prior modification.” The seller “acquired the vehicle in a partially disassembled and incomplete state, without an installed engine and with components stored separately. Restoration, assembly, and modification work occurred over time and was performed by third parties, including individuals who were not operating formal restoration businesses. One primary individual who performed work is now deceased. Documentation is limited and incomplete. The seller cannot verify all work performed, certify workmanship quality, or warrant restoration accuracy.”

A third-party inspection “identified, among other things, incorrect or non-original rivets securing identification plates; evidence that the data plate had been removed and reinstalled; filler material applied to portions of the frame; absence of the required VIN derivative stamping on the frame, where such stamping should be present; drivetrain and transmission components that are not original.”
