Description
The 1966 Ford Mustang GT Coupe marked a refined evolution of the original pony car that debuted in 1964, introducing subtle styling updates like a revised grille, new side ornamentation, and updated instrument panels. Building on its runaway success, the GT package added performance and style upgrades, including fog lights, dual exhausts with chrome tips, disc brakes in front, and special badging. The factory-optional luxury “Pony” interior here added embossed seat inserts and woodgrain trim. Under the hood, GT models typically featured a 289 cubic-inch V8 engine, available in several configurations, including the high-performance “A-code” with a four-barrel carburetor, as seen here.
This 1966 Mustang GT Coupe has been owned by two families since new and placed first in the Daily Driver category of the 2012 Rio Grande Mustang Club 30th Anniversary Show in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The current owner was gifted the car by his father, and he rebuilt the 289ci V8, replaced the lower control arms, added an upgraded sway bar and front shock tower brace, and installed a new exhaust system with Tri-Y headers and Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers. This Mustang has been driven less than 500 miles since its engine rebuild in October 2019, and is now offered with receipts back to the original owner and a clean Texas title in the seller's name.

I had the motor rebuilt in October 2019 and have driven only 419 miles since. I don't drive her as she should be out on the road and need to find her a new home. There are many receipts from the original owner, his daughter, my dad, and myself in a folder for the next owner."
