Description

In 1965, Cadillac’s long-running flagship, the Sixty Special, benefitted from a completely new model-specific body on an extended 133-inch wheelbase. The elegant shape was slightly wider and featured sharply defined lines, fashionable vertical headlights, a long artful hood, and subtle fins above the tail lights. The Fleetwood Brougham, previously available as a $194 option package on the Sixty Special, became its own model in 1966. Its smooth, 340-horsepower 429 cu-in “OHV” V8 was further complemented by power steering and improvements in suspension, chassis, and acoustics to make for one of the most refined driving experiences offered by any manufacturer.  Upholding Cadillac’s reputation as the “Standard of the World”, the 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham perfectly encapsulates American automotive opulence.
