Description
The 1963 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire was a technological marvel of its time as the first turbocharged production car offered by an American manufacturer. Powered by a 215ci aluminum V8 paired with a Garrett turbocharger and a water-methanol injection system dubbed “Turbo Rocket Fluid,” the Jetfire delivered an impressive 215 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque. This placed it among elite company in the one-horsepower-per-cubic-inch club, alongside legends like the Fuelie Corvette and 426 Max Wedge.
This uncommon 1963 Oldsmobile F-85 Jetfire is said to be an unrestored example showing 77,300 miles, which the seller claims to have purchased from the original owner in 2006. The car reportedly retains its factory turbo setup and desirable four-speed manual transmission—one of approximately 203 built in this configuration according to the seller. Located in Sun Lakes, Arizona, it is offered with recently-replaced redline tires, additional recent servicing, and a clean Arizona title.

Additional Notes
From the seller: “There are [believed to be] only 14 four-speed manual examples remaining out of the [approximate] 203 originally built. This Jetfire is a true survivor. It still wears its original paint and interior and retains the factory turbo setup, which most cars lost in the 1965 recall. While the turbo isn’t currently functional, it’s all there. I’ve made careful updates to keep it roadworthy while preserving its originality. It even took 1st Place at the Arizona Oldsmobile Club Show. It’s a rare piece of GM history and a solid candidate for preservation or restoration.”
