Description
The 1963 Chevrolet Corvette marked the debut of the second-generation “Sting Ray,” a revolutionary redesign that blended performance with striking style. Built on a new chassis and featuring independent rear suspension, it delivered improved handling and a more refined driving experience compared to the C1.
The ’63 model’s most iconic feature was the split rear window on the coupe — a bold design choice by Bill Mitchell that gave the car a futuristic look. However, the split window also limited rear visibility, leading some owners to replace it with a single-piece rear window for practicality, like the original owner of this one did shortly before selling it to its current owner. In addition to receiving new rear glass from a ’64 Corvette, this ’63 Coupe was also given a new hood from a ’64 model only a year after it left the St. Louis factory.
Cherished by its second owner for more than six decades, this Riverside Red Corvette features a top-of-the-line, high-performance, fuel-injected L84 V8 engine rated at 360-horsepower, mated to a factory-optional four-speed manual transmission — highly-desirable combination today. The engine was reportedly rebuilt approximately 30,000 miles ago.
This 61-years-owned 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe is now offered with a reproduction split rear window fiberglass piece (but no glass), as well as the removed factory wheels and clock, a clutch kit, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
The seller of this 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe purchased it from the original owner in May 1964 and titled it on June 22, 1964.
The seller says, “I’m the second owner since May 1964. The original owner replaced the split window and hood in early 1964, and I bought it that way. It’s common and easy to put the split back, as many do it. All parts are available, and I have a reproduction rear split window fiberglass piece. The rear suspension rubber bushings are all original, as are the universal joints. I drove the car all summer and showed it at car shows. It runs very well.”
Included Items
