Description
Few Corvettes are as desirable as the first-year C2-generation model. Back in 1963, this sports car’s stars aligned: the Corvette wore a seductive new body penned by visionary designers Peter Brock and Larry Shinoda, sat on a sturdy new chassis, and was motivated by Chevrolet’s powerful 327ci V8. But it was Zora Arkus-Duntov’s fully independent suspension that made this car a legend.
Duntov’s strong new chassis had a low center of gravity — the perfect complement to the new independent rear suspension. Compared to the live-axle C1 Vettes, the C2 offered more stable handling and better traction. Factor in four 327s in various power levels, backed by manual or automatic transmissions, and the 1963 Corvette became the standard in which all other sports cars were measured. Road & Track exclaimed, “In a word, the new Sting Ray sticks! Whether you slam the car through an S-bend at 85 or pop the clutch at 5000 rpm at the drag strip, the result is the same — great gripping gobs of traction.”
This '63 C2 is finished in Riverside Red, and wears matching red vinyl upholstery and a tan convertible top. Its only exterior modification is a set of 15” chrome wheels wearing modern radials. And under the hood, a replacement 350ci Chevrolet Performance ZZ4 crate engine is matched with a four-speed manual transmission for an exhilarating analog driving experience.
This '63 Vette has been with the seller since September 2022.
This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is now offered by a Broad Arrow Representative with an owner's manual, take-off wheels and hubcaps, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
