Description
The 1962 Chevy II, introduced by Chevrolet to compete with Ford’s Falcon, marked a shift toward compact, lightweight cars. It was designed on a new X-frame chassis, and utilized unibody construction and a bolt-on front subframe. Available in sedan, coupe, convertible, and station wagon variants, the Chevy II offered simplicity, versatility, and stunning good looks.
The base engine was a 153 cu-in inline-four, with an optional 194 cu-in inline-six. Transmission options included a three-speed manual and two-speed Powerglide automatic. The Chevy II’s lightweight construction and handsome styling made it popular among budget-conscious buyers and hot rodders alike, laying the groundwork for the later, V8-powered Nova performance variants.
This award-winning 1962 Chevy II originally started life as a six-cylinder-powered four-door sedan, then underwent a clean conversion into a two-door hardtop. It’s now powered by a stout, fuel- injected 350 with forged components and a roller cam, which sends power through a three-speed automatic to an upgraded rear end. A Mustang II front clip, rack and pinion steering, and disc brakes make it agile, and upgraded gauges, air conditioning, and heat make it livable. Now’s the time to make it yours.

Ownership History
The Pennsylvania seller of this 1962 Chevy II has owned it since 2017. It is sold with a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name. The seller notes, "I bought the car eight years ago and it took me almost five years to complete. I did all the work myself except for rebuilding the transmission and engine. I did the four-door to two-door conversion myself. The quarter panels and all welding was not stitch weld it was welded solid. This engine was built by an engine builder who builds a lot of sprint car engines. This engine can spin up to 7000 RPM without worrying about coming apart!"
