OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1960 Chevrolet Corvette marked the eighth year of the first-generation (C1) Corvette. It retained the iconic styling introduced in 1958. Performance was a highlight, and a total of 10,261 units were built, making it the most popular Corvette to that point.
The seller had owned an original 1960 Corvette earlier in life and, upon retiring in 2000, set out to “build one that corrects everything wrong with the original designs.” He purchased this 1960 Corvette from a Prescott, Arizona resident who had recently acquired it reportedly from the original Southern California owner and had begun a restomod project with a 385hp ZZ4 crate engine. Seeking more power, the seller transformed the crate engine into a custom-built 383ci stroker producing 450–500hp, using all forged internals. A TH400 automatic transmission was built to handle the output, and Moser supplied a new limited-slip Ford 9-inch rear end.
Beyond performance, the car was engineered for reliability in Arizona’s heat. A custom five-core radiator and dual heavy-duty electric fans were installed. The seller built a powerful air conditioning system from scratch, added two engine oil coolers, and three transmission fluid coolers. He also fabricated a custom cold air intake.
The result is a classic 1960 Corvette that’s hot in performance — and built to beat the heat.

Ownership History
The current owner bought the car in 2000 from a seller in Prescott, Arizona, who had briefly owned it after purchasing it from reportedly the original owner in Southern California.
It had a new 385-hp ZZ4 crate engine installed when he purchased it, but he decided he wanted more power and had it rebuilt into a 383ci stroker with approximately 450-500hp in 2006-07.
The current owner upgraded the transmission, brakes, rear end, and suspension to accommodate the extra horsepower around that same time. He custom built the power disc brake setup with sheer ingenuity, no aftermarket kits. All the added electronics are relay-controlled to protect the ignition and electrical systems.
Notice some switches on the side of the center console; he has some of the aftermarket gauges running double duty. The oil temp gauge reads both the engine oil and the transmission fluid temps with the flip of a switch.
The current owner had the car repainted in a Chrysler Crossfire yellow in 2004. He also had the front and rear bumpers, grille, and headlight rings re-chromed.
There are approximately 2,000 total miles on the engine and other mechanical upgrades.
