Description

In 1958, the Corvette underwent a bold restyling that embraced the chrome-heavy aesthetic of the 1950s. Several carbureted 283ci V8 configurations were offered, from single-carb 230 horsepower (as seen here) up to a dual-carb 270 horsepower, and with Corvette weighing barely 3,000 pounds, all delivered thrilling performance. Inside, the cabin received a fresh look with factory-installed seatbelts and a striking new dashboard layout, featuring a 7,000-rpm tachometer placed directly in front of the 160-mph speedometer to ensure drivers could monitor revs and speed without taking their eyes off the road.

Finished in Signet Red with White coves, this '58 Vette is powered by a 230-horsepower 283ci V8 backed by a four-speed manual. In the early 2000s, it reportedly received a body-off restoration including rebuilds of the engine and transmission. Additional recent maintenance is said to include new steering and suspension components, new tires and an alignment, and a new oil pan. This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette is now offered with a clean Michigan title in the seller’s name.
