The 1957 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 marked the only year Oldsmobile applied its prestigious “Starfire” nameplate across its entire Ninety-Eight lineup. Drawing its lineage from the 1953 Starfire and 1953 Fiesta convertible, the “98 Starfire” branding elevated all Ninety-Eight models for 1957 — Holiday coupes, sedans, and convertibles alike. Featuring sculpted “rolling tunnel” rear quarter panels and three-piece chrome-wrapped taillights, the styling represented a deliberate shift away from tail-fin excess.

Power came from a robust 371-cubic-inch Rocket V8 producing 277 horsepower in base form, with a high-output J-2 tri-carb setup delivering 300 hp targeted at both performance and NASCAR competition. Paired with the improved Jetaway Hydra-Matic, the car combined luxury, power, and smooth shifting.

Powered by the optional high-output J-2 engine, this 1957 Oldsmobile Starfire 98 Convertible has been refinished in factory Jade Mist Iridescent and Alcan White paint with white convertible top over three-tone turquoise, green, and white leather seats and door panels.
