Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1930 Chevrolet Roadster Pickup emerged amid a major revamp in Chevrolet’s lineup. It was part of the Series AD “Universal” range — launched in 1930 — to replace the 1929 models, featuring a 107‑inch wheelbase and a new 194 -cubic-inch OHV inline‑six “stovebolt” engine. This setup delivered about 50 horsepower, supported by hydraulic shocks, wire‑spoke wheels, a non‑glare windshield, and a dash‑mounted fuel gauge.
Significantly, 1930 marked the debut of the Roadster Pickup with a conventional fixed truck box; earlier roadster pickups used slide-in beds. Production volumes dropped due to the Great Depression, yet approximately 5,684 roadster bodies were built on the AD chassis.
Today, only a handful of 1930 Chevrolet Roadster Pickups survive — including this one, which certainly has not lived a pampered life. This example reportedly has a running engine and working mechanicals, and the underside appears to have received some recent work, including new floorboards in the bed. However, the truck has lost much of its original black paint and is a potential candidate for restoration or a custom build.
This Roadster pickup project is now offered at no reserve in Michigan by a Broad Arrow Specialist with its top, some spare parts, and a clean Texas title in the current owner’s name.
