OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Globally respected for top-flight, air-cooled Porsche engine development and service, Thoroughbred Motorsports of Corry, Pennsylvania, was founded by Dr. Karl Hens — a man whose experience and knowledge have been honed by a lifetime dedicated to building precision Porsche powerplants. Along his journey of automotive excellence, Dr. Hens amassed a collection of special air-cooled Porsche sports cars spanning every generation, alongside a nearly immeasurable treasure trove of highly sought-after Porsche parts.
On-site lot viewings are available by appointment at Hagerty Garage + Social Savannah, 1446 Dean Forest Rd., Savannah, GA 31405.

Offered from The Thoroughbred Motorsports Collection of Dr. Karl Hens, this Type 911/01 flat-six is a genuine 2.2-liter 911E engine from the 1970-1971 production era, carrying engine number 6210629. Correct for period 911E restorations, these units are becoming increasingly difficult to source in any condition.
This engine comes equipped with a sport exhaust, and recently received a top-end refresh by Dr. Karl Hens — including removal and reconditioning of the cylinder heads, a rebuilt distributor, and a rebuilt MFI system. The engine is completely fresh, has not been run yet, and after completing the work, Dr. Hens deemed the engine good to go.
This engine is available for in-person inspection at Hagerty Garage + Social Savannah — prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity prior to bidding.
