Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
As the 1940s began, Chevrolet introduced an all-new lineup of Fisher-built bodies with larger dimensions, allowing three passengers up front and three in the rear. Among these models, the 1941 Chevrolet Special De Luxe Town Sedan stood at the top of the Series AH range, offering more style and comfort than the Master Deluxe. Its modern design featured integrated headlights, a wider body, and a streamlined profile that reflected early 1940s styling trends.
Power came from Chevrolet’s dependable 216.5 cubic-inch “Victory Six” inline-six engine, producing 90 horsepower and paired with a three-speed manual transmission for smooth, reliable performance. Inside, the Special De Luxe showcased upscale details such as a woodgrain dashboard, dual windshield wipers, and improved upholstery. The two-door Town Sedan body style combined a sportier appearance with seating for six, making it ideal for small families.
The 1941 model year was significant as the last full production year before World War II halted civilian automobile manufacturing. Chevrolet built over one million cars that year, including 228,458 Town Sedans. This example, showing just 35,500 believed-original miles, retains its authentic interior, preserved by clear plastic seat covers popular at the time. Offered from The Richard Gordon Collection, it stands as a remarkable symbol of an important era in automotive history.
