Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

First introduced as a trim level within Cadillac’s Series 62 lineup, the Coupe de Ville swiftly emerged as a hallmark of prestige and refinement. The 1955 model featured a pillarless hardtop design and was powered by a robust 331ci overhead valve V8 engine, producing 250 horsepower and 345 lb-ft of torque. This powerful engine was paired with a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, delivering a comfortable and seamless driving experience.

Distinctive styling elements included a sleek roofline, prominent chrome accents, gold-toned "Coupe de Ville" script beneath the rear quarter windows, and the signature fuel filler cleverly concealed beneath the hinged driver’s side taillight.

Inside, the cabin offered a luxurious array of features, including premium upholstery, a radio, and a clock — underscoring an unwavering commitment to comfort and elegance. It’s no wonder that Cadillac called its Coupe de Ville “one of the most anticipated of Cadillac’s annual offerings.”

This 1955 Cadillac Coupe DeVille is coming out of long-term ownership. It needs bodywork and paint, but it still retains its V8 engine, automatic transmission, and luxurious options including a power seat, heater, and tinted glass. If you’ve ever considered building a classic Caddy restomod, now’s your chance.
