I began collecting cars just recently. I have had a love for the Mercedes automobile for a very long time. I purchased my first one in the early 90s which was a 1983 Mercedes 300D non turbo, didn’t keep that one very long until I learned about the turbo on the same car and purchased one of them and enjoyed it for a long time. Then later I purchased when living in Idaho a 1983 380 SEC. This car I really enjoyed even though at that time my twin girls were born and transporting them in their car seat in and out of the back seat was challenging since it was a coupe but made it work. By the time they started school I had graduated to a 1986 560SEL. This by far was my favorite car. My wife even liked that car and she was not a big car fan. She liked it so much she wanted a car like it so I purchased from an auction I believe was a 1991 300SE. This car was a challenge to start cold and the mechanics that looked it couldn’t figure it out, but we dealt with it. Fast forward to the year 2018. I decided to start looking at Mercedes again, and bought a project car 1993 190E. come to find out after putting it back together and fixing a few things, this was one of the last of that production series. Not sure where it falls but it was built in the 2nd week of May of 1993 and I believe production ended that month to tool up to the next body that was being introduced which is known today as the “C” Class.
