Market commentary

The bidding stalled at $40,000 and was inched along in little bumps to the rather impressive successful bid, 12% over the high estimate. The bidding was rather typical of the Monterey atmosphere this year: restrained and conservative even though there was, in the end, plenty of money available and a willingness to spend it. Call it tentative
